Chandler hasn't had much luck against Hamilton recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Wolves will host the Huskies at 3:45 p.m. Chandler is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
Chandler had taken Casteel down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Wolves took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Colts.
Sarah Hartrumph was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Marlee Vandervalk and Lily Kolsrud did some serious damage despite the final result: Vandervalk scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Kolsrud scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Vandervalk has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, Hamilton faced Basha in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Huskies blew past the Bears 13-2. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Jazmin Ramirez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Ramirez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, Madison Sauni was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taylor Hampton, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Hamilton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Basha only posted an OBP of .316.
Hamilton's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Chandler, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.
Chandler's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. The Wolves have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Hamilton, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Chandler continue to outrun the ball?
Chandler might still be hurting after the 21-6 defeat they got from Hamilton in their previous matchup last Thursday. Will the Wolves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
