Football Recap: St. David's Falls Short of John Paul II Catholic in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. David can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 54-6 loss at the hands of the John Paul II Catholic Saints. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-0.

Gentry McMinn continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for John Paul II Catholic, rushing for 213 yards and four TDs on only six carries. McMinn's longest rush was for an incredible 89 yards. Another back making a difference was Crisean Williams, who rushed for 91 yards and one score.

St. David's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7. As for John Paul II Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

St. David's does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for John Paul II Catholic, they will face off against Cary Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Saints will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
