Baseball Recap: Westfall Drops Highest Score of Season Against Southeastern

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westfall). They walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Southeastern Panthers on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their one-run performance the game before.

The team relied heavily on Jaden Towler, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brenden Tuttle, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and one stolen base.

Westfall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Westfall's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Southeastern, their record is now 2-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Westfall will square off against rival Zane Trace at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 3.9, the Pioneers 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Southeastern is set to take on their familiar foe Huntington at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
