Softball Recap: Chatham Central Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Chatham Central won against Southeast Alamance last Monday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Chatham Central walked away with a 10-6 win over the North Moore Mustangs. That's more bragging rights for the Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Maddie Kaczmarczyk spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sallie Oldham, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Caleigh Warf was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Oldham wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Chatham Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive matchups.

Chatham Central pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for North Moore, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

Chatham Central and North Moore should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Chatham Central (ranked 122nd) will meet Southeast Alamance (ranked 249th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, North Moore will take on Northwood at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday up 191 places (160 vs. 351).
