Football Recap: Devin Holmes Leads Westview's Defense on Friday + How To Watch

Westview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 35-14 to the Buckeye Hawks.

When it comes to explaining why Westview lost, don't look at Nicholas Price. Despite the final result, he threw for 105 yards and two TDs. Demario Wade-Bey also helped out with an impressive 90 receiving yards.

Even if they lost, Westview's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Devin Holmes was especially locked on to Buckeye's QB and sacked him twice. Westview got some further help from Adrian Guzman: he made 17 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Xylin Yancy continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Buckeye, rushing for 107 yards and one score on only 13 carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 58 yards.

Westview's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Buckeye, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Westview has already played their next matchup, a 14-7 defeat against Glendale on the 26th. As for Buckeye, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 55-20 victory against La Joya Community on the 26th.
