Softball Recap: Oneida Takes a Loss

Oneida was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Campbell County Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-4 on March 10th.

Oneida saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jolie Duncan, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Oneida's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Campbell County, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 4-8 record.

Oneida and Campbell County could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. Oneida will challenge Oakdale at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday down 142 places (233 vs. 91). Meanwhile, Campbell County (ranked 203rd) will meet Christian Academy of Knoxville (ranked 63rd) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
