After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Glenwood, Mt. Zion was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs a 1-0 shutout. For Mt. Zion, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win Mahomet-Seymour walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Mt. Zion is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Mahomet-Seymour, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Zion will head out to square off against Taylorville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Zion are facing Taylorville at the right time seeing as Taylorville are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mahomet-Seymour, they will head out on the road to face off against Urbana on Friday.
