The Puckett Wolves will square off against the Stringer Red Devils at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Puckett is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.

Puckett's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Newton as they made off with a 17-0 victory. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Knox McWilliams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Wilkes Carter was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Tim Axton was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base.

Puckett was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in six consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Stringer narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Lumberton 2-0.

Puckett's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Stringer, their victory bumped their record up to 2-8.

Puckett was able to grind out a solid win over Stringer in their previous matchup last Tuesday, winning 7-4. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
