Softball Game Preview: Mildred Eagles vs. LaPoynor Flyers

For the second straight game, Mildred will face off against LaPoynor. The Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Flyers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mildred has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mildred is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering LaPoynor just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 12-7 to the Flyers.

For LaPoynor's part, they got a big performance out of Hadley Rhodes, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance also gave Rhodes a new career-high in RBI (two). Emma Crye was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Rhodes wasn't the only one working in the hit department: LaPoynor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

LaPoynor's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Mildred, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
