Baseball Recap: Chaminade Comes Up Short

If Chaminade was riding high fresh off their 10-4 takedown of Washington on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Devils came up short against the Christian Brothers Cadets on Wednesday, falling 13-4. The Red Devils were not able to make up for their loss to the Cadets from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Chaminade got a good showing from Gus Ramthun, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, Ramthun gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since April 7th.

At the plate, Anthony Wohlstadter made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Chaminade's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Christian Brothers, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-13-1 record this season.

While Chaminade had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
