Baseball Recap: Sickles Comes Up Short

Sickles and Wharton squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Sickles had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Gryphons have suffered since April 8th.

Sickles saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Dial, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Sickles' defeat dropped their record down to 25-10. As for Wharton, their win bumped their record up to 26-7.

While Sickles had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
