Volleyball Game Preview: Vanlue Wildcats vs. Cory-Rawson Fighting Hornets

Vanlue is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Cory-Rawson a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Saturday. The Vanlue Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cory-Rawson Fighting Hornets at 10:00 a.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Vanlue had taken Arcadia down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Wildcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Redskins. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Redskins 25-10 in the first set.

Vanlue actually scored more points across those four sets (89-85), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 10-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Cory-Rawson also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Ridgemont by a score of 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-16, 25-27, 25-20.

Cory-Rawson's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Vanlue, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-19.

Vanlue skirted past Cory-Rawson 3-2 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Fighting Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
