Basketball Recap: South Adams Takes a Loss

South Adams was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Southern Wells Raiders, falling 58-33. While losing is never fun, the Starfires can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while the Raiders are ranked 167th).

Southern Wells was led to victory by Kaylee Davis and Ashlie Needler. Davis went 6 for 12 on her way to 13 points and six steals, while Needler went 7 of 14 on her way to 16 points and eight rebounds. The match was Needler's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Collena Reeves, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

South Adams' record now sits at 3-13. As for Southern Wells, their victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Adams will face off against Lakeland Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Adams is facing Lakeland Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Lakeland Christian Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Southern Wells, they will take on Adams Central in a tournament on Tuesday.
