Football Game Preview: Braxton County Eagles vs. Poca Dots

The Braxton County Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Poca Dots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Braxton County is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Roane County on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Eagles lost 46-20 to the Raiders. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-6.

Although Braxton County took the loss, they still got scores from Elijah Marcum, Adrian Ramsey, and Mason Smarr.

Meanwhile, Poca scored the most points they've had this season last Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 44-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Harrison. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on September 12th (35), the Dots still had to take the loss.

Braxton County now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Poca, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2.

Braxton County was dealt a bruising 62-0 loss at the hands of Poca in their previous matchup back in September of 2019. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
