Soccer Game Preview: Roosevelt vs. Ottumwa

Roosevelt is a perfect 7-0 against Ottumwa since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Roughriders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Roosevelt's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Three must be Roosevelt's lucky number: they beat BCLUW with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Roughriders skirted past the Comets 3-2. That's two games straight that Roosevelt have won by just one goal.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Ottumwa and Des Moines East, and Ottumwa kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs blew past the Scarlets 6-3 on Tuesday. Ottumwa haven't had any issues with Des Moines East recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Roosevelt now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Ottumwa, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Everything went Roosevelt's way against Ottumwa in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Roosevelt made off with a 4-1 victory. Will the Roughriders repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
