Football Game Preview: Jones Fightin' Tigers vs. Auburndale Bloodhounds + How To Watch

For the first time this season, Jones will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will welcome the Auburndale Bloodhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jones' defense has only allowed 12.4 points per game this season, so Auburndale's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Jones took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took down Osceola 28-14. The Fightin' Tigers have beaten the Kowboys the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Kowboys has come to flipping the script.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jones to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daunte Wallace, who rushed for 77 yards and one TD on only nine carries. Tyler Coleman also deserves some recognition as he hauled in his first receiving touchdown of the season.

Meanwhile, Auburndale made easy work of Bartow on Friday and carried off a 28-6 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Bloodhounds have posted against the Yellow Jackets since September 20, 2019.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Auburndale's defense and their five sacks. Elijah Dias was especially locked on to Bartow's QB and sacked him three times. Thanks to that big game, Dias is now up to 5 sacks on the season. Auburndale received some extra help from Cash Nealy, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Auburndale's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Jones, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Everything came up roses for Jones against Auburndale in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-7 win. In that game, the Fightin' Tigers amassed a halftime lead of 28-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
