Football Recap: Carter Bujno's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hackettstown over Kittatinny Regional

Hackettstown dropped down to 3-3 on Saturday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 36-22 bruising from the Kittatinny Regional Cougars. Despite 90 more yards than the Cougars, the Tigers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Hackettstown lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Carter Bujno, who threw for 302 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.7 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 38 yards. Hackettstown is 2-1 when Bujno posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Myles Hatten also helped out as he racked up 110 receiving yards.

As for Kittatinny Regional, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Kittatinny Regional's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Brex, who rushed for 75 yards and a pair of TDs. The dominant performance also gave Brex a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Mike Strong made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
