Volleyball Recap: Urbana Hillclimbers vs. Kenton Ridge Cougars
Urbana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Kenton Ridge Cougars, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hillclimbers of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.
Olivia Everhart was a one-man wrecking crew for Kenton Ridge as she had 16 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Everhart has posted since back in October of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Collier, who had three digs and two aces.
Urbana's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Kenton Ridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-1.
Urbana's road trip will continue as they head out to face Centerville at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Centerville is coming into the game with nine straight victories at home, so Urbana will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Kenton Ridge, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Chaminade Julienne Catholic on the 12th.
