Basketball Recap: Taholah Skates Past Oakville with Ease

Taholah won the last time they faced Oakville and things went their way on Thursday too. The Taholah Chitwhins breezed by the Oakville Acorns to the tune of 53-26. The Chitwhins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Several Acorns players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zuriyah Filitaula, who posted five points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Carolann Black was another key player, putting up six points along with eight boards and four steals.

Taholah has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points per game. As for Oakville, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.

Taholah will take on Naselle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oakville, they will head out on the road to face off against Rochester at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Oakville is facing Rochester at the right time seeing as Rochester is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
