Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Charter Eagles vs. Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers

The Lincoln Charter Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln Charter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Lincoln Charter took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Cox Mill 3-2.

The team relied heavily on Nate Rollins, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Country Day School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Myers Park.

Charlotte Country Day School also got a good showing from Dominic Ranalli, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ranalli has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Charlotte Country Day School saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Achilles Morales, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Charlotte Country Day School's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Lincoln Charter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.
