Basketball Recap: Southern Alamance Comes Up Short

Southern Alamance was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a hard 31-15 fall against the Person Rockets. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 40-29 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Southern Alamance lost, don't look at Sarah Kathryn Maness. Despite the final result, she posted eight points along with eight boards and three steals. That was a full 53.3% of Southern Alamance's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Cayla Shaw was another key player, putting up four points and five rebounds.

Southern Alamance's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Person, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10-1 record this season.

Southern Alamance has already played their next matchup (against Providence Grove), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Person will be playing in front of their home fans against Orange at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
