Volleyball Recap: Pleasant Takes Down Liberty Union in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Pleasant walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Liberty Union Lions on Tuesday. The Spartans were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Lions, so the Spartans were just returning the favor.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Pleasant took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-8, 25-3.

Kamryn Roberts was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 11 digs and one assist. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 20 games she's played.

Pleasant pushed their record up to 22-1 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Liberty Union, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 17 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-20 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Pleasant and Africentric Early College will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
