Football Recap: Avant Garde Academy Comes Up Short

Avant Garde Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Coral Springs Charter Panthers.

Coral Springs Charter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ali Rodriquez, who threw for 200 yards and five touchdowns while completing 83.3% of her passes. Another receiver making a difference was Eva Rodriquez, who picked up 120 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Avant Garde Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Coral Springs Charter, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avant Garde Academy will face off against BridgePrep Village Green at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Avant Garde Academy is facing BridgePrep Village Green at the right time seeing as BridgePrep Village Green is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Coral Springs Charter, they will challenge Coral Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Coral Springs Charter's defense has only allowed 6.2 points per game this season, so Coral Springs' offense will have their work cut out for them.
