Softball Recap: Pope Francis Prep Comes Up Short at Home Against East Longmeadow

Pope Francis Prep unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the East Longmeadow Spartans on Thursday, falling 17-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Pope Francis Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlotte Brooks, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pope Francis Prep will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Putnam Vo-Tech at 4:00 p.m. on April 7. As for East Longmeadow, they will face off against Minnechaug Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
