Volleyball Recap: Lincoln Southwest Finds Home Court Redemption Against Burke

There's no place like home for Lincoln Southwest, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against the Burke Bulldogs on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Silver Hawks haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

The final score came out to 25-8, 25-17, 25-11.

Lincoln Southwest found their leader in sophomore Taryn Weigel, who had ten digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Weigel. Ansley Curry also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Lincoln Southwest was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive matches.

Lincoln Southwest's victory bumped their record up to 22-9. As for Burke, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-21.

Lincoln Southwest wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Millard West on the 29th. Burke does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
