Basketball Recap: Baraboo Falls Short of Sparta in the Playoffs

Baraboo and Sparta squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Baraboo had to settle for second. They took a 59-41 bruising from the Sparta Spartans. The Thunderbirds just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Leading Sparta to victory were Tiana Leis and Elexa Jones. Leis almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards, while Jones en route to 20 points and three steals. That's the most rebounds Leis has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylie Church, who scored four points.

Baraboo's loss dropped their record down to 3-21. As for Sparta, they pushed their record up to 12-13 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Baraboo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sparta, they are taking a road trip to take on DeForest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
