Softball Recap: Thousand Oaks Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Thousand Oaks, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They never let the Calabasas Coyotes get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Tuesday. Considering the Lancers have won six games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Madison Jauregui was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Sophia Munhall was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Thousand Oaks always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calabasas only posted an OBP of .056.

Thousand Oaks' victory bumped their record up to 12-5-1. As for Calabasas, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thousand Oaks will head out to challenge Oaks Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Calabasas, they will venture away from home to take on Westlake at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Coyotes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
