Recap: Dunbar Crimson Tide vs. Jackson-Reed Tigers

On Wednesday, the Dunbar Crimson Tide faced the Jackson-Reed Tigers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The stars were shining brightly for Dunbar in a 48-33 victory over Jackson-Reed. The win made it back-to-back wins for Dunbar.

Despite the defeat, Jackson-Reed saw an underclassman step up: Aminyah Muhammed scored eight points along with ten rebounds. Muhammed is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Dunbar's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Jackson-Reed, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.

Dunbar has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome St. Andrew's Episcopal at 5:30 p.m. on December 22nd. St. Andrew's Episcopal will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. Jackson-Reed's road trip will continue as they head out to face O'Neal at 1:00 p.m. on December 27th. One thing working in O'Neal's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight games.
