Preview: Chilhowee/Leeton vs. Osceola
The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday Osceola takes on Chilhowee/Leeton in the first playoff game of the year. Chilhowee/Leeton will need to watch out since Osceola has posted big point totals in its previous four matchups.
The state rankings suggested a blowout in Osceola's previous game, and that is exactly what happened. It picked up a decisive 'W' against Pleasant Hope last week, finishing up at 64 - 8. Sophomore Tyler Guerin was especially active in the win, finding the end zone an impressive three times. Guerin has been a consistent playmaker for Osceola as this was the 4th good game in a row from him. Senior Zach Vaughn was an active contributor as well and provided 110 receiving yards.
As for Chilhowee/Leeton, it can now show off four landslide victories after its game last week. It had all the answers against Kansas City East Christian Academy last week, winning 42 - 20. Chilhowee/Leeton's offense might have been extra motivated to turn things around after difficulties scoring in its previous game.
Their wins bumped Osceola to 3-6 and Chilhowee/Leeton to 6-3. With both Osceola and Chilhowee/Leeton swaggering in after impressive performances, we'll find out on Friday which team will step up to teach the other some humility.
