Mulvane is 8-1-1 against Winfield since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Wildcats will challenge the Vikings. Mulvane will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Mulvane is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Kansas' top teams: Collegiate, who was ranked 13th at the time (Mulvane was ranked first). The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Spartans on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 15 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Grey Sanders, who gave up just two hits and racked up 16 Ks to keep Collegiate off the board. Sanders has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hagen Warkins was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run and five RBI. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Grady Myers, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Winfield lost 16-6 to Rose Hill on Monday. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Rockets recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Winfield's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Mulvane, their victory bumped their record up to 19-1.

Everything went Mulvane's way against Winfield in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Mulvane made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
