Softball Game Preview: Monument Mountain Spartans vs. Amherst-Pelham Regional Hurricanes

The Monument Mountain Spartans will venture away from home to square off against the Amherst-Pelham Regional Hurricanes at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Things were looking good for Monument Mountain after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 9-6 to Drury. The loss put an end to the Spartans' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Amherst-Pelham Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 22-3 to Westfield Technical Academy.

Corinne Charlebois made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Amherst-Pelham Regional's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Monument Mountain, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Monument Mountain took their victory against Amherst-Pelham Regional in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 19-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
