Football Recap: Pasadena Keeps Burroughs' Under Pressure

If Burroughs wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Pasadena, they should've done a better job of containing Dutch Burbidge. The Bulldogs blew past the Bears, posting a 54-14 win for which the team can thank Burbidge, who threw for 313 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.6 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 49 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season.

Kyle Robertson also helped out as he racked up 100 receiving yards. He was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 69 yards.

One reason for the win was Pasadena's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Burroughs' side was J'Hari Teasley-Hall, who picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

When it comes to explaining why Burroughs lost on Friday, don't look at Sho Fujita. Despite the final result, he rushed for 167 yards, and also picked up 34 receiving yards.

The victory got Pasadena back to even at 2-2. As for Burroughs, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Pasadena didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-0 win against Glendale on the 25th. As for Burroughs, they have also already played their next matchup, a 41-33 victory against Arcadia on the 25th.
