With a playoff win on the line, Greenbrier Christian Academy rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past the Timberlake Christian Tornadoes 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Gators have posted since September 14, 2024.
While Greenbrier Christian Academy might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Timberlake Christian scored at least 11 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 20-25, 20-25, 15-11.

Greenbrier Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Vivianne Tucker, who had nine digs and five aces. What's more, Tucker posted four assists, the most she's had over her last seven matches. Another player making a difference was Hannah Hess, who had 12 digs and two assists.
They weren't the only good servers: Greenbrier Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive contests.
Despite the loss, Timberlake Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Siam Kowatch had four digs and two aces. Kowatch is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last 26 games she's played.
Greenbrier Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-10-1 record this season. As for Timberlake Christian, their defeat ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-12.
Looking ahead, Greenbrier Christian Academy will face off against Chelsea Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Timberlake Christian has already played their next match (against Tournament Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
