Baseball Recap: Challis Has No Trouble Against Wendell

Challis hadn't beaten Wendell on the road since April 8, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Trojans. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

Brayden Ollar was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Shepard, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Challis has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Wendell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8-1 record this season.

Challis will venture away from home to take on Soda Springs at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Wendell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Declo at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
