Jackson-Milton dropped their record down to 7-2 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Southeast Pirates by a score of 11-9. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bluejays, who until this matchup were averaging four runs allowed.

Emma Johns made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Gabby Kerr also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

As for Southeast, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.

On Southeast's side, Ava Stephens and Miranda Timko did most of the damage at the plate: Stephens went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Timko went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Stephens has been hot recently, having posted three or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Bailey Morris was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Jackson-Milton will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Memorial at 4:00 p.m. The Bluejays' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Devils have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season. As for Southeast, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 13-1 defeat against Champion on the 17th.
