Baseball Recap: Cimarron Takes a Loss

Cimarron had lost four straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 5-9 to make it five. They lost 21-3 to the Grady Bronchos. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bronchos this season, with their most recent loss being a 12-7 defeat last Friday.

Cimarron saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Orion Ledoux, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Ledoux has become a key player for the Rams: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-8 otherwise.

As for Grady, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6. The result was nothing new for the Bronchos, who have now won seven contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

On Grady's side, the team relied heavily on Madden Flood, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. What's more, Flood posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Deakin Ragland, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Cimarron will host Magdalena at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Steers will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight. As for Grady, they will head out to take on Logan at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bronchos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Longhorns have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season.
