Volleyball Game Preview: Cardinal Spellman Cardinals vs. Bishop Stang Spartans

Cardinal Spellman is 8-2 against Bishop Stang since October of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cardinals will be playing at home against the Spartans at 5:15 p.m. The timing is sure in Cardinal Spellman's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Bishop Stang has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Cardinal Spellman won the last time they faced St. Mary's and Lily Carey did her part to make sure it happened again. The Cardinals put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday with plenty of help from Carey, who had ten digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-22, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Bishop Stang lost 3-0 to Arlington Catholic on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-19, 25-19.

Bishop Stang's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Cardinal Spellman, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
