Thunderbird Adventist Academy piles up the points against Paradise Valley Christian Prep

Thunderbird Adventist Academy entered their tilt with the Paradise Valley Christian Prep Panthers with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Thunderbird Adventist Academy blew past Paradise Valley Christian Prep 59-26 on the road. Given Thunderbird Adventist Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Paradise Valley Christian Prep is ranked 257th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Thunderbird Adventist Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gideon Orellana, who scored 20 points along with eight steals. Orellana is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Malcolm Tucker, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Thunderbird Adventist Academy pushed their record up to 7-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Paradise Valley Christian Prep, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thunderbird Adventist Academy will take on Ville de Marie Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Ville de Marie Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Paradise Valley Christian Prep, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Tri City Prep at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th.
