Preview: Owyhee vs. Independence
Owyhee will be defending their home turf for the first time on Saturday when they go up against Independence at 1:00 PM. If you head out to watch the game, expect to stay the whole 48 minutes: the MaxPreps rankings predict a close match.
After a disappointing 6 points in the match before, Owyhee made sure to put some points up on the board against McDermitt last Saturday. Owyhee took the contest and then some with a 78-31 win over McDermitt. No one put up better numbers for Owyhee than sophomore Desmond Hanchor, who brought his A game into the match. He punched in 5 rushing TDs.
Meanwhile, Independence found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 26-48 punch to the gut against Carlin. It was a tough break for Independence, who improved upon an already decent score from four weeks ago but lost both times.
Owyhee took a serious blow against Independence the last time the two teams met, falling 0-53. Maybe Owyhee will have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back on MaxPreps for all the details.
