Baseball Game Preview: Clovis East Timberwolves vs. Clovis West Golden Eagles

For the second straight game, Clovis East will face off against Clovis West. The Timberwolves will face off against the Golden Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Clovis East's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Clovis West's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Clovis East fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Clovis West on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Eagles. The Timberwolves have struggled against the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

For Clovis West's part, Peyton Miscione was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Miscione has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other pitching news, Andrew Griffin looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits.

Back at the plate, Marcus Jackson was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Raygoza, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

The victory was the third in a row for Clovis West, bringing their record up to 10-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Clovis East, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
