Flag Football Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Villa Park

Villa Park lost to Gahr back in August, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Spartans came out on top in a nail-biter against the Gladiators, sneaking past 12-9. The win was all the more spectacular given the Spartans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the Gladiators are ranked 102nd).

Villa Park now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Gahr, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-4.

Villa Park will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Gladiators: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
