Baseball Recap: Paradise Comes Up Short

Paradise was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 7-3 to the Krum Bobcats. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Paradise got a good showing from Kaden Hammonds, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hammonds has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Paradise saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Mara, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. The dominant performance gave Mara a new career-high in hits. Ayden Olalde also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Paradise's loss dropped their record down to 0-4-2. As for Krum, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.

Looking ahead, Paradise will venture away from home to face off against Bowie at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Krum, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Krum Bobcats take on Whitney Wildcats at 11:15 a.m. on Friday.
