Baseball Game Preview: Kennedy Thunderbirds vs. McFarland Cougars

For the second straight game, Kennedy will face off against McFarland. The Thunderbirds will head out to take on the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kennedy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Kennedy turned things around against McFarland on Tuesday. They walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Cougars.

Kennedy let Nathaniel Elizando and Joshua Gonzales run wild. Elizando went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Gonzales went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave Elizando a new career-high. Espn Cantu was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Kennedy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

McFarland is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5-1. As for Kennedy, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-8.
