Basketball Recap: Los Alamos Hilltoppers vs. Taos Tigers
Los Alamos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 35-25 to the Taos Tigers. While the Hilltoppers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 12-4 in the first quarter.
Jenae Velarde was Los Alamos' leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Taos' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jasmine Mondragon, who posted 13 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Julianna Flores, who earned 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.
