Basketball Recap: Ottawa Comes Up Short

Ottawa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 60-49 to the Dunlap Eagles. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Ottawa's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Dunlap, their win bumped their record up to 9-17.

Ottawa and Dunlap could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Ottawa will face off against Sycamore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday down 177 places (338 vs. 161). Similarly, Dunlap (ranked 239th) will meet Morton (ranked 14th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
