Preview: Taylor Yellowjackets vs. Harrison Wildcats
The Taylor Yellowjackets will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Harrison Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Harrison took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Taylor, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Taylor beat Mariemont 47-43. The win was just what Taylor needed coming off of a 56-23 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Harrison pushed their score all the way to 57 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Milford by a score of 60-57. Even though they lost, Harrison's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.6 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite their defeat, Harrison saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Alli Robertson, who scored 18 points, was perhaps the best of all. Robertson scored a full 31.6% of Harrison's points, the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Maggie Seiter was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Taylor's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3. As for Harrison, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.
Taylor skirted past Harrison 48-45 in their previous meeting back in December of 2019. Does Taylor have another victory up their sleeve, or will Harrison turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
