Volleyball Recap: Corvallis Comes Up Short

If Corvallis was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Woodburn on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Salem Saxons on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2021.

Corvallis' loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for South Salem, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7-1 record this season.

Corvallis will host Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Salem, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Bend on the 18th.
