Organ Mountain skates past Silver with ease

Recap: Organ Mountain Knights vs. Silver Fighting Colts

The Organ Mountain Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 21 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Silver 61-30 at home. With Organ Mountain ahead 36-15 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Organ Mountain had a senior duo take command as Caitlin Turnbow dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds and Yvanna Villarreal scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Turnbow has scored at least 25% of Organ Mountain's points. Another player making a difference was Innocence Sugamosto-Clay, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.

Organ Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Silver, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Organ Mountain won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Roswell at 1:00 p.m. on January 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Roswell is ranked 20th, while Organ Mountain is ranked 15th). As for Silver, they will head out on the road to face off against Socorro at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Socorro has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30.
