Basketball Recap: Smyer Comes Up Short

Smyer has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 39-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Plains Cowboys. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-44 back in December of 2024.

Smyer's loss dropped their record down to 19-8. As for Plains, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-3.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Sundown the next time they take the court. Smyer will host Sundown at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Plains will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on January 24th.
