Basketball Recap: Milton Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cottage Hill Christian Academy last Tuesday, Milton came back down to earth. The Panthers took a hard 47-29 fall against the Niceville Eagles on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost nine in a row.

Niceville had a senior duo take command as Audrina Nelson shot 50% from the field to rack up 20 points and four steals and Carson Fayard dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. The matchup was Fayard's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Bria Dailey was another key player, putting up five points.

Milton's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Niceville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milton won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Northview at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Niceville, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Holmes County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' defense better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 58.2 points per game this season.
